Box Elder Candlelight Prayer Vigil

A Candlelight Prayer Vigil will take place tomorrow (Fri, April 5) in Box Elder from 6 pm until dusk, offering solace and support to those mourning the loss of loved ones. Organized by Chaplain G. Bruce Meyers, the event welcomes all community members to join in bringing a candle and the name of a recently departed individual, regardless of the circumstances of their passing.

Meyers emphasized the event’s significance in light of recent tragedies, including the shooting deaths of Darrin Wade Bernard-Caplette and Thomas R. “T.R.” Yallup last Thursday in Box Elder, stating, “Everyone is living in fear out here.” Tribal leaders, law enforcement agencies, representatives from Montana’s Missing and Murdered Indigenous Persons, Congress, and others have been invited to participate, highlighting the broad impact of loss across communities. The vigil, focused on honoring the recently deceased, especially those affected by various forms of tragedy, aims to provide a space for collective prayer, healing, and support.

Those interested in learning more can contact Meyers at (406) 945-1395.
